2 Days From Errachidia To Merzouga

Day 1: Pick up at Errachidia airport and transfer to Merzouga – Camel trekking and overnight in the desert.

Our representative will pick you up at Errachidia airport and drive you south to the Sahara desert, passing through the kasbahs and palm oases of the Tafilalet region. This is one of the main date producing areas and harvesting takes place in October and November. Once you start seeing the golden dunes, you will soon arrive in Merzouga. Your 4-legged transport will be waiting to take you across the dunes to your camp for the night under the stars. Dinner and music around the campfire and an unforgettable memory to take with you.

Day 2: Airport Merzouga Rissani Erfoud Errachidia Erfoud

The best part of the day is often the sunrise; one of the camp team members will make sure you miss it with a wake-up call. Once you have had breakfast, you will return by camel to meet your driver. On your return to Errachidia, you will visit the market town of Rissani; last outpost to get supplies for the desert. It has a colorful market and a delicious local dish called Medfouna; a pizza-like bread stuffed with meat and very tasty. The next interesting stop will be in Erfoud, where the fossil and mineral workshops are located. Here you can see the millions of years old fossils found locally and how they are cleaned and polished, turned into many household items and of course the minerals are quite magnificent. You may even see actual dinosaur bones. The driver will drop you off at your hotel or the airport.
