Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
We will meet at the port or at your hotel or airport and travel to the small blue fortress town called xauen Its buildings and houses are painted blue and white and is one of the most beautiful towns in the Rif Mountains. You will have free time to explore Chefchaouen on your own. Overnight in local Riad in the Medina.
Day 2: Chefchouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, we continue our way to the archaeological site of Volubilis where you can explore the famous Roman ruins. Then we head to Meknes to visit the imperial city and its most interesting monuments. Later in the afternoon we will arrive in Fez, where we will spend the night in local Riad.
Day 3: Fez (World Heritage Site).
This day will be a day of culture. We will tour the city with a guided tour of the oldest of the imperial cities. It is the first political, religious and cultural capital. We will start the visit at the Golden Gates of the Royal Palace. Then, we will visit the wall that encloses an impressive and ancient medina, which we will walk through where you will feel spiritual beauty. There we will discover mosques and medersas, caravanserai and religious sites until we reach the village of the tanners. After lunch, we will have lunch and visit the craftsmen’s quarter. We will stay in riad.
Day 4: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
Departure from Fes to the Atlas Medi to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. There we will meet the Berber village Azrou “the rock”, then we will arrive in Midelt. We will continue our way through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel’s Neck, where we will see beautiful landscapes with mountains at 1907 meters of altitude. Then we will reach Errachidia to live the crossing of the Tafilalet massif to the palm grove of Erfoud. We will continue by road to reach the incredible sand dunes of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga. Tonight we stay in a kasbah.
Day 5: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga
After breakfast, we travel one of the routes used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally” visiting desert nomads who will treat us with a ricoté. There we will see the oasis where some movies like “Sahara” and “Aladdin” among others were filmed. We will visit the village of “the blacks”, so called because of the slave trade brought from Sudan. After lunch we will ride the desert car, the camels. They will take us into the desert to contemplate a magnificent sunset. This night will be unique, as we will stay in tents, like the Berbers, where we can enjoy music and a starry sky that will dazzle you.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, departure to Risani, old Sijilmassa, supply center of the ancient caravans of the Sahara. We continue our journey through a semi-desert landscape, we reach the oasis of Tinghir – possibly one of the most beautiful places in Morocco. Then we pass the Todra River, impressive gorges to reach more than 300 m. We visit the village, we take the road of a thousand kasbahs to Ouarzazate, to reach one of the most important cities of southern Morocco, known for its intense activity and cinematographic, taking its credit films such as Gladiator, Troy, the Mummy etc.. Visit of the Kasbah of Taurirt. We will enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech.
After breakfast, we will tour the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where multiple movies have been filmed such as “Lawrence of Arabia” “Babel” and “Gladiator” for example. Then, we will drive to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass. On the way we will see Berber villages and farms. We will arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day, where we will spend the night.
Day 8: Guided tour of Marrakech
After breakfast we spend a full day excursion to visit Marrakech. The stories tell that the city was inhabited by a tribe on the other side of the Atlas, with large quantities of dates, and bones, born from a palm. Called “the red city” because of the color of its walls and full of gardens, watered by subway wells (khettaras), which were built by the Almoravids and Saharan nomads in the eleventh century We will visit Menara, the Casbah, the Saadi Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia, the Majorelle gardens and souks, are some of the unmissable visits. A unique experience will be to discover the “Djemaa El Fna” square, where the life and activity of the city is concentrated: dancers, storytellers, jugglers, craftsmen, merchants and snake charmers. We stay in Marrakech overnight in local Riad.
Day 9: Excursion to Essaouira.
o kick off our journey, we’ll depart Marrakech bright and early, seizing every moment ahead. Our next stop, Essaouira, beckons to the intrepid traveler, promising a tapestry of experiences. There, we’ll delve into the bustling workshops, witnessing the craftsmanship of woodworking, the essence of argan oil production, and the intricate weaving of carpets. Lastly, we’ll pay homage to the resilience of women as we visit a cooperative dedicated to their empowerment. There we will be shown how the local women elaborate the argan oil. Upon arrival in the city, we will visit the incredible Medina of Essaouira, where we will also pass through the port. Later we return to Marrakech, we sleep in the Riad in the medina.
Day 10: Transfer to Marrakech airport.
We will have breakfast and then we will have the day off until the time of transfer to the airport. We will end our services wishing you a pleasant stay.
